Mercury House Bournemouth

In April 2014, Investra acquired Mercury House, a vacant office building in the town centre of Bournemouth.

Investra Development purchased the old office with the benefit of planning for a 149 bed scheme. Bournemouth was identified as a town with a fundamental under supply of student beds coupled with the current supply being general poor quality and not meeting current student needs.

This provided an opportunity to capitalise on the pent up demand whilst at the same time redefining the quality of product in the market.
Investra modified the planning slightly by adding an extra floor. The floor will be dedicated to communal facilities with a large common room and decked area benefiting from sea views.

This addition will greatly enhance the student experience and set the block out from the competing schemes. The rest of the buildings receiving a comprehensive refurbishment to provide quality accommodation.

The new scheme will be ready for the start of the 2015/16 academic year.
